The Office of Student Life (OSL) is a department within the Division of Student Affairs. The mission of the department is to complement the academic program of studies and enhance the overall educational experience of students through development of, exposure to, and participation in social, cultural, intellectual, recreational, spiritual, and governance programs. In addition, the department is responsible for maintaining facilities, providing services, and promoting programs that are responsive to student developmental needs and to the physical, social, cultural, and continuing education needs of the campus community.
Major services and programs, which the department has responsibility for, include management of Elliott University Center, management of Aycock Auditorium, and coordination of student involvement programs and services. In addition to facilities management, specific duties include the coordination of student organization affiliation, student organization leadership and training development, student organization merchandising, and administrative advising of select student organizations including student government, student media, program board, and Greek life.
Additional duties include coordination of student leadership programs, the community service volunteer program, management of the class ring program, event management for major campus events, management for the touring performing arts program, and serving in a liaison capacity to the United Campus Ministries.
